Christmas Craft 2023

Christmas! Can you believe we are here already! Term 4 has just weeks to go and while I am freaking out about how fast this year has gone, I am also so relieved that a break is just around the corner. This year we are headed north for a few weeks to spend time on amazing Gumbaynggirr Country. Saltwater healing here I come!

The end of the year wind down hasn’t hit the Wingaru office yet.

The Aunties have workplace training sessions right up until the week before Christmas. This year we have worked with 19 amazing organisations, supporting them as they increase cultural competency across their organisations through cultural awareness, connecting with community, and delivering on RAP actions.

The Wingaru Kids team are putting together an exciting range of new resources. New digital lessons and a focus on maths outcomes will be available for Term 1 and some really gorgeous new resources will hit the store shortly. This includes something amazing for early intervention therapists, so keep an eye out!

Our ClassHive team is really excited about the next update that will see a new suite of functionality for schools who are looking to save time and make digital learning work for them and their students. We have loved welcoming so many new schools to the Hive in 2023 and are buzzing with excitement for 2024. If you haven’t checked out how ClassHive can help, head over to to the ClassHive website and see what the buzz is all about.

Wingaru isn’t the only place where the work continues right up until the end of the year. Teachers around the continent are writing reports, finalising units of work and planning for 2024. Students are excitedly preparing to move classrooms, connect with a new teacher and for many, a whole new school environment. If you are looking to say thanks to your hardworking teacher with a thoughtful gift check out the amazing teacher gift packs available in the Wingaru Store We have something for every budget that teachers will love.

Christmas Craft!

Christmas also means many classrooms will soon start on their Christmas craft and this year we have another freebie for you. Our annual Christmas gift box has become a tradition in lots of classrooms and I am excited to see what they do with this year’s design. We also have some deadly gum leave ornaments for your class to colour and hang from their tree this year. You can download these freebies below.

Gum Leaf Ornament Christmas Gift box

If you are a Wingaru Kids subscriber you will find this and two other new Christmas crafts in the ‘Additional Resources’ section of your dashboard along with our curriculum-linked guide to including Aboriginal perspectives in your Christmas craft activities. I love this giftbox and will be presenting several of my gifts in it this year. Our ‘gum tree’ craft is also super sweet - my boys have had fun putting these together over the last week waiting to hand from the tree.

I hope that the end of the year goes smoothly and this festive season you get to take some time out to relax with your mob. After all, that’s what it’s all about! See you recharged and ready to keep making change in 2024!
