Acceptable Use Policy - Wingaru Kids
1) Purpose
To set clear, simple rules that keep students safe, respect others, and protect school and Wingaru systems when using Wingaru Kids.
2) Scope
This policy applies to:
Access through school devices, personal devices on school networks, and home access provided by the school.
All features of Wingaru Kids.
3) Roles & Responsibilities
School Admins: Configure accounts, set class lists, manage permissions, review incidents, and communicate this AUP.
Teachers: Supervise use, model expected behaviour, report issues, and support students to follow this AUP.
Students: Follow teacher directions and this AUP.
Wingaru: Provide the service, maintain security, and respond to reported issues within its control.
4) Acceptable Use (What’s OK)
Use Wingaru Kids for teaching and learning.
Access with your own school-issued credentials; keep passwords private.
Download/print materials only as allowed for classroom use.
5) Unacceptable Use (What’s Not OK)
Sharing logins, impersonating others, or bypassing security settings.
Copying, redistributing, or altering Wingaru materials beyond classroom use or licence terms.
Any conduct that breaches school policies, laws, or community standards.
6) Student Safety & Wellbeing
Teachers supervise student use.
Respect cultural protocols and guidance provided in Wingaru Kids and by the school.
7) Cultural Respect & Content Standards
Treat all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge with respect.
Do not use content out of context, misrepresent perspectives, or make disrespectful comments.
9) Privacy & Data Protection
Use only school-approved student identifiers. Do not upload unnecessary personal information.
Export or store student work only on school-approved locations.
Follow your school’s privacy policies and relevant laws when handling student data.
10) Security & Accounts
Use strong passwords and keep them confidential.
Sign out after sessions on shared devices.
11) Devices & Networks
Follow school rules for device care and network use.
Personal devices used for Wingaru Kids must have current security updates and passcodes enabled.
12) Copyright & Licensing
Wingaru Kids materials are licensed for classroom use by the purchasing school.
Do not repost content to public sites, social media, or external platforms without written permission.
Attribute sources as required by the platform and your school’s policy.
13) Monitoring & Logging
The school may monitor usage to maintain safety and compliance.
Wingaru may log access and events to secure and improve the service in line with its privacy policy.
14) Incident Reporting
School admins escalate platform issues to Wingaru Support with relevant details.
16) Training & Awareness
School admins ensure staff are briefed on this AUP during onboarding and annually.
Teachers explain student-friendly expectations before first use and revisit regularly.
